Height Barrier at Jalan Serindit Repaired

This height barrier at the Jalan Serindit section was reinforced with steel bar at each column.

Welded with 2 steel bars supporting the main column. Also, column foundation is reinforced with concrete.

It looks much tougher now.

Can you the signage? - Had berat kenderaan melalui jalan ini 4 Ton.

Hello lorry drivers? Can you see the signage indicating "Had Tinggi 2.4 metres"?

JKP Zon 16 is pleased to inform that with the help of our councillor Tan Jo Hann and MPSJ, the damaged height barrier at Jalan Serindit has been repaired and erected wth reinforced steel bar.

This was because a few days before Chinese New Year, another recalcitrant lorry driver attempted to drive through the barrier but instead hit the barrier. This had resulted in the barrier tilted and almost fell to the ground. Did the lorry driver take any cognizance of his selfish and "marverick" act that by damaging and felling the barrier, it would have put other motorists' lives in danger? One of our JKP Zon 16 members who happened to pass by that link on that day of the incident quickly alerted MPSJ and our councillor.

Also all the rubbish has been cleared from the road shoulder at the middle of the link road. We urge the people not to throw rubbish at the link road again, as it is clean now. Anyone who spot people throwing rubbish, please do you part as a responsible community by taking a photo and sending to MPSJ.

Lebuh Puteri Traffic Issue - MPSJ Meeting

This is a follow-up on the Lebuh Puteri Traffic issue.

This morning at an important meeting was held at 10:30am by councilor Tan Jo Hann with the MPSJ Engineering Department, Director Adnan B, Derahman, IOI project Manager Mr Esmond, and his consultant engineer Mr Matthew Liew, and residents representatives Mr Jacky Teh of BP7, Mr William Pang and Mr Stanley of Sri Begonia apartments. It was to discuss the findings of the Traffic report from IOI with regards to the "dangerous junction at the Columbia hospital in Bandar Puteri.

Over the past few months there has been numerous road accidents and injuries to persons, and the problematic road junction has been of serious concerns to the public and MPSJ. Since the roads in that vicinity is still under the responsibility of IOI, it was natural that they were taken to account to improve the situation at the junction.

Last December, there were already some steps taken namely, the low bushes at the road island had been cut to enable better road vision, the speed breakers on both sides of the road had been thickened to reduce speeding vehicles, and no u-turn signs put up at the junctions.

This morning the discussions resulted in the following:
1. Explore the poosibility of making road 4 humps (2 on each side of the 2 roads right before the junctions.
2. Setting up 24 hours yellow alert lights (blinking) at the road side at the 2 junctions.
3. Exploring adding more street lights at both junctions to brighten up the roads for better visibility at night.

These suggestions will of course be channeled to the MPSJ Infrastructure Committee for deliberations and approval. After which IOI will be obliged to fulfill these tasks. We thank the MPSJ Engineering department for their diligence, prompt and efficient service, and also the cooperation of IOI in seeking an amicable solution to this issue.
